Elton John is not classic rock! How about something more than ZZTop "Legs" for something to play? You know, The Who have more than 4 songs, and have you ever heard of The Kinks? "The Bay" is horrible!

Yeah, The Bay isn't steller, but it sure beats the crap that 98 Rock is playing, ot the accoustic junk that the "I'm so much more intellectual than you" people are playing on WTMD. Ok, some songs like "More than a feeling" and "Sweet home Alabama" are painfully overplayed, but at least it's not Josh Scrotem or Korn.....! BTW, the pass code here is really annoying!

"The Bay" like anything else can't please all of the people all of the time. I like probably 85% of what you play on there, which is more than I can say for any other station. I can sit through the Elton song because I know something good will follow it. How come you aren't on more anyway Rich? You're good and you answer the phone. You did a bang up job sitting in for Emry on Monday too.

Thanks for (some of) the kind words! I have to read this board more. I've been working less due to some stuff going on at my day job that is requiring more of me. If it were up to me I’d be on The Bay every day! As for the music - I agree with Eric that not everyone likes everything that is played 100% of the time. That would be kind of creepy, wouldn't it?!? I think that we do a really good job of playing a cross section of classic rock, from Zeppelin to Genesis to AC/DC. Most of the calls that I get are very positive and our ratings are strong. If you feel that something is lacking, by all means contact the Program Director right off the "100.7 The Bay" website under "Ask the PD" at www.thebayonline.com C'mon, we don't play a crazy amount of Elton, and we definately aren't playing "Little Jeanie" either. Early Elton John is definately Classic Rock. Not my personal fav either, but some very good tunes early on. BTW, I'm a huge Kinks fan....
